Some Stuff I Wrote (2001) H. Morris Williams

                                                             Betty Mixon
Betty Mixon , dedicated and enthusiastic Quarterback Club member, has become the first

woman ever to be named to the club’s board of directors.
                                                             Scott Collins
Scott Collins has just finished his senior football season at Troy State (Alabama). The team

had a 10-1 record and, except for a fluke rule, would be in the national playoffs. Scott is 6T" and
weighs 220, played defensive end, and was on the team all four years he was there. In those four

years, his parents Mike and Pat Collins, drove to almost every game Scott played in, going as far
west as Arkansas and north as far north as Virginia. Scott graduates with a degree in marketing.

                                                             Brett Adams
Brett Adams got the Christmas of a dream come true. He flew to Minnesota to see his

brother play against San Francisco, then attended the Vikings Christmas party and got to meet the
                    Minnesota players.

                                                        Roy and Millie Waldron
Roy and Millie Waldron have been busy compiling a photographic directory of the CHS

classes of 1941 -45. Those classed did not have a yearbook because of the war. The directory will
be about fifty pages, with a special memorial page for the deceased. The photos will be current ones

as those of fifty years ago are not available. Robert Louis Green and others are also very much a
part of this project, due for completion in one or two months. Congratulations to all who have had

a hand in this marvelous project.
                                                         The Christmas Spirit
The Christmas Spirit is alive and well in Lake City: a young couple, about thirty, had been

saving their money to buy a new car. Then they learned of a fellow church member who had no car
at all and needed a way to get to work. They meditated and prayed, then took their own savings and

bought their fellow Christian a serviceable car. “We know we did the right thing. We just couldn’t
have driven around in a new car knowing our Christian friend had no car at all to get to work.”

Yatil Green, Antonio Bradwell and Reinard Wilson
More football talk: Congratulations to CHS players Yatil Green, Antonio Bradwell, and

Reinard Wilson upon their selection to the Florida Times Union All-Area team.
