Some Stuff I Wrote (2001) H. Morris Williams

Bob Simmons, Coach John Justice and Counselor Tom Grubb.
Dennis King, formerly a dean of students at LCCC, now holds a similar position at Ashville-
Buncombe Technical Community College in Ashville, N. C.

Coach Nick Hyder of the national championship Valdosta High Wildcats wrote General
Bob Harkness recently and in that letter he said he bases everything the team does on these six

priorities, in this order: God, family, country, academics, friends and team.
Bea Kozlowski is a leading member of the Adult Education Class for the Visually Impaired.

When her vision was perfect, she wrote poetry that was published in 15 different publications.
Kinita Bishop, daughter of John and Sandra, graduated from FSU with two degrees. Now

she devoting two years of her life to missionary teaching in Indonesia. You will remember Kinita
as a mainstay in those fabulous religious musicals presented by Parkview Baptist Church.

Former CHS agriculture teacher and LCJHS principal, P. A. Browning, had some surprise
company drop in to visit last Wednesday: former students Ray Kirkland, Buck North, Earl

Tompkins, Mike Kennon, Jack Haltiwanger, Fred Rozelle, Glenn Jones and Stan Anders.
Here’s one story they told: One boy (maybe J. L. Markham) had skipped class and “P. A.” went

looking for him. The class lookout grabbed P. A.’s board and was going to bust J. L. when he
walked through the door, but somehow P. A. came through the door first and Buck busted the

teacher full force with his own board. Well, the classroom got pretty warm after that. P. A.
remembered the incident very well: “That happened 50 years ago and my behind still hurts every
               time I think about it.”
