When English is mentioned, one usu-
ally thinks of nouns, verbs, adjectives,
and vocabulary tests. Because of the
new Student Assessment Test, there
has been more emphasis on the basics.
However, this does not rule out study-
ing drama, writing prose and poetry, or
learning the do's and don'ts of writing
a term paper. Every student at CHS is
given the opportunity of broadening
his English skills by studying these and
more. The advanced classes have
proven to be beneficial to those college
bound students. Department heads
are: south campus, Barbara Foreman
and north campus, Frances Harkel-
road.
