                                                                                       The business department at Columbia
                                                                                       High School offers a wide range of op-
                                                                                       portunities  for  advancement  in  areas
                                                                                       like  typing  and  bookkeeping.  Other
                                                                                       courses  are  business  law,  business
                                                                                       math,  shorthand,  and  recordkeeping.
                                                                                       The  program  has  the  most-up-to~date
                                                                                       equipment and highly qualified teach-
                                                                                       ers  to  prepare  students  for  the  com-
                                                                                       petitive business  world.
                                                                                       The work experience program is a pop-
                                                                                       ular  one.  Students  may  attend  school
                                                                                       half-days and work the other half. This
                                                                                       program appeals to those students who
                                                                                       are  not  planning  to  enter  college  im-
                                                                                       mediately  after graduation,  but would
                                                                                       like  to  enter  the  business  world.
                                                                                       Courses offered are: Distributive Edu-
                                                                                       cation,  Home  Economics,  Diversified
                                                                                       Co-operative  Training,  Agriculture,
  ,_                                                                                   Diversified Mechanics,  Masonry, Auto
                                                                                       Mechanics  and  Work  Study.  Depart-
                                                                                       ment  heads  are: south  campus,  Eddie
                                                                                       Long and north campus, Mrs.  Donnie
                                                                                       Parnell.
