High Q

The Columbia High Academic Team went into
action for the first time this year. Named High Q,
the group of brain brawlers faced a tough schedule
against schools with more experience. With the
guidance of Mrs. Cox and Mrs. Howard as
sponsors, High Q was able to survive.
On April 21 through the 23, 6 members of the
Academic Team went to the Florida High School
Academia Tournament held at the Contemporary
Resort Hotel, Disney World. The 6 members that
attended were: Bobby Heckathorne, Namratha
Setty, Mike Perry, Allison Taylor, Amy Taylor, and
Ed Rios. The winning team in each division receives
a $1,200 scholarship for each member provided by
Barnett Banks, lnc.and a ring provided by Herff
Jones, Inc.
