STUDYING AND GRADES
NHS Members Focus on Excellence, Success
"Strive for Success" is the motto of the National Honor Society, and suc-
cess is exactly what they are reaching. Making a certain grade point average
has allowed these students to join this elite club and participate in the many
extracurricular activities associated with it. Holding fundraisers, such as the
Sponsorship-for-A's project, and the canned good collection are just a couple
of the projects held by Honor Society.
Members are inducted into the club at a special ceremony. At the candle-
light service, those inducted receive membership cards and say a ceremonial
vow. Students are inducted during their sophomore year or junior year and
may remain in the club as long as they keep up their grade point average. At
graduation, Honor Society members show their involvement in the club by
wearing the red cords purchased with the money made from fundraisers.
Making A's and B's is just the first step of many that these motivated
students will make towards success in their lifetimes. Many of them will go on
to lead productive lives in whichever field they choose. They will become
successful, happy adults. Congratulations, students, on your achievements!
