LEADERSHIP IS WHAT IT TAKES!
As President of the 1989-90 Student Coun-
cil, I would like to thank everyone who helped
make the planned activities a success. The
summer was very busy for us, getting pro-
grams organized for the new year.
Our biggest social fundraising event was
the victory dances, held at the National Guard
Armory. Here, students of Columbia High
could gather and socialize with classmates in
a more relaxed atmosphere. Hugs and kisses
to Mrs. Whitfield, Mr. Opperman, Faculty,
chaperones , students and senior Chris
Owens, the faithful OJ. Hats off to the Student
Council - without your constant organizing
and advertising, the achievements of this or-
ganization would never have been possible.
Personally, having been on the council has
proved to be a great incentive. I have learned
much about not only leadership, but the hard-
ship of success.
I would like to commend our faculty, admin-
istration, and students for the support you
gave the council. As your elected Student
Council, we hope that we have lived up to your
expectations. Certainly we have tried. In clos-
ing, as your student council President, I can
honestly say we made it together to the top. " I would like to thank the Student Council, Faculty, staff and everyone involved in
- Kim Steward making the 1989-90 school year a great success." - Bessie Whitfield
