That's
Living Colour, the smash new group that has
taken America by storm, is not all that new. Living
Colour has been a progressive punk group for sev·
eral years, but has reformed to a more main-
stream rock-n-roll band. Living Colour recently
wrapped up a North American tour with the great-
est rock-n-roll band in the world: The Rolling
Stones.
The Rolling Stones launched a 36-city tour in
September that would indeed take America by
storm. The Rolling Stones came to Miami, Tampa,
and Jacksonville, and gave everyone a night to
remember. They played their old and new hits like
only the greatest rock-n-roll band could."
The Who blasted out of retirement in 1989 and
performed the Rock Opera Tommi in a select 25-
city tour. Three of the original four rock-n-rolled the
fans. With all of the talk of old rock-n-roll bands,
southern rock revived as well. Gainesville's own
Tom Petty jammed away in the O'Connel Center in
Gainesville, Florida. " Rock-n-roll came over me
like a fever that I never got rid of," he says.

The 23-year old veterinary student from Mexico,
Missouri, is the third black woman to become Miss
America in the pageants 68-year history. Cincinniti
Reds manager Pete Rose, one of the greatest
players in the history of baseball, was banned for
life from the game because of gambling. The base-
ball commissioner found out that Rose bet on his
own team. Say it isn't so, Pete.
