FROM THE MIDNIGHT SUN
TO THE FLORIDA SUN
Coming almost 5000 miles from across the Allan-
tic to learn about the American culture and lifestyle
were : Therese Adenmark from Sweden, Yngve
Walle, Line Pettersen and Kristin Solli from Norway.
They all said that they had a very exciting year and
enjoyed attending Columbia High. Here they were
juniors, but most of them still have two more years to
go before they can graduate in their home country.
Their schools in Norway and Sweden do not give any
credits for the year they spend here.
Involved in sports, they represented our school on
many occasions. Line played on the softball team, a
completely new experience, since softball doesn't
exist in Norway. Yngve was chosen as the most
valuable swimmer on the swim team. Therese was a
manager for the flag corp. Kristin played soccer as
the only girl on the team. "I had a great time, and I'm
impressed by the way the boys accepted me as a
fellow player," she said.
Accustomed to long, cold winters and short sum-
mers, the hot Florida sun was greatly appreciated .
"If only we had beaches like this at home . . . "
wished Line.
