A FAIRY TALE COHES TO LIFE  AS THE  CHS DANCE
                           CLASSES PRESENT :
                           THE FROG PRINCESS



              Once Upon A Time_,
           In a  kingdom far away-Jived a QUeen and her son. the prince.
              The QUeen decided it wa~ time (CK  the prince to choose a
           bl"ide, ~o she gave a  grand bal. AI the eigjble maidens in the
           kingdom attended
              But alas, the prince wa~ sad. for he was in love with the
           maid's daughter. Since she wa~ but a  commoner. they could
           never marry.
              The wicked witch attends the bal as an uninvited guest.
           She has bl"ought her ugly daughter (01" the prince to marry. or
           co<Kse, the prince refuses her offer.
              When the witch sees the prince is in love with the maid's
           daughter, she seaetly casts a spel on her tuming her into a
           frog,
              Suddenly, a big ugly green frog appears at the baiL As the
           frog jumps from person to person fCK help, no one recognizes
           her. The QUeen orders her thYown into the castle ppnd.
              Although the frog thinks she wil  surelY drown. ~ is
           rescued by Gida the goldfiSh. maYCK of the castle pond
           community,
              After hearing the frog's sad stc:Ky, Gida ass<Ked her that
           she and her friends wil help. lilY. the beautif<.A tiiYhawk, and
           F=reda, the smart ftt'efiY wo<.Ad be arriving soon - one or them
           wood know what to do.
              The goldfiSh. Gilda, and the cattails all dance while they wait
           HIY arrive~ frst, but co<.A<t">'t think of a  way to help.
              Soon F=reda and the firefies arrive. After hearing the
           frog's story, an idea comes to mind
              F=reda had just flown over the enchanted forrest and seen
           the annual gypsy dance contest in progress. She suggested
           the frog enter. The grand prize was the granting or one wish by
           the gypsy kin& She could wish her spel broken.
              Everyone was excited except the frog who could not
           dance.
              But, the others agreed to teach her to dance ike lily, in
           toe shoes- if they co<.Ad get  her big feet into theml
              So orr they went to practice. The frog t<Kned out to be a
           fast learner, and befc:Ke long they were off to the contest.
              When they arrived at the enchanted forest, the clock was
           striking midnight. F=rom midnight <X>til dawn. the edge of the
           forest was guarded by Wanda, the witch, and all her evi spil"its.
           No one can get into CK out of the fc:Kest during this time. So Gilda
           and the frog hid nearby.
              Dawn arrives and they QUicklY r<X> into the forest.
              Now the forest is said to be enchanted because no matter
           how r ar yOU travel you always seem to be in the same place. So
           to keep them from getting lost, F=reda and lily fly overhead.
              When they arrive at the gypsy camp, the last finaist is
           dancing, They have to beg the king to let her dance. He agrees,
           and she dances beautifuly. He awards her the trOPhY and her
           wish, to not onlY bl"eak the spelL but make her a beautif<.A
           princess.                                        Lisa  Cox danced beautifully  in  her role as the Princess.  Chris strickland was
              The princess and Gida rush to meet F=reda and lily. There's   skilled in his role of the Prince.  It was a night to remember!
           a  MasQUerade Ball at the palace that night, and they can't wait
           to s<Kprize everyene, especiallY the prince!
              The MasQUerade Ball is in progress when Gilda, F=reda, Hly,
           and the princess arrive.
              The princes~ waits outside whie the other three go in and
           spread the news that a beautif<.A princess is soon to arrive.
              The prince is not interested. He stillongs for his lost love.
              Suddenly, a beautif<.A princess appears in the doorway and
           dances into the baiL
              The prince is strangelY <Yawn to her. As she dances
           closer. she removes her mask. The prince is over joyed at the
           sight of his lost love.
              The QUeen gives the prince the rOYal ring to present to the
           princess as a  symbol of their" engagement.
              There  is much celebl"ating in the kingdom that night.
              The prince and the princess  are soon married and they
           live  happily ever  after.   Story by Debt-a Wright
