The Ornamental Horticulture Club is designed to
train students to appreciate and become knowledge-
able of the opportunities in Ornamental Horticul-
ture. It gives the student a working knowledge of
plants; the function of plants; knowledge of plant
disorders, including insects, disease, and other
pests; the ability to recognize the disorder and take
corrective measures. The student learns to recognize
different types of ornamental plants and their uses.
It also covers floral arrangements, designs, sales,
marketing, processing, and the distribution of orna-
mental products. Overall it pre-
pares the student with the
knowledge that is necessary for
local, regional, district, and state
competition.
