UNIVERSAL
LANGUAGE
Although students at CHS have different
taste in music, it is the "universal
language". Some prefer Rap and R&:B,
while others prefer Heavy Metal and
Alternative Rock. Everything from
classical to metal is represented.
For some, music is just aform of art, to
others it's a way of life. Picking up a
musical instrument can be very
intimidating at first, because you know
there is always someone better than you.
Practice makes perfect and CHS students
who have talent in playing an instrument
know that to be true! From band or jazz
ensemble to outside hobbies suclas public
or private performances, students show
their talent and express themselves
through their music.
No matter where you go, music plays an
important role in everyday life. It brings
the world together. As stated by swing
great Benny Goodman- "Perhaps music
will help all people to listen and think
together .... I would like to think that
while some people break the sound barrier,
some of the rest of us break through other
barriers with the sound of music."
