Culinary
The Pro-Start competition is an illustrious tournament where over eight thousand
students from sixteen hundred and fifty schools compete for scholarships and other
prizes. This culinary event is run by the F1orida Resturant and Lodging Association,
and is held annually at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando. At Pro-
Start soon to be chefs, business owners, and edible center piece carvers, pit their
skills to represent their school and to win awards and scholarships.
Our culinary students at CHS are preparing feverishly to prove who they are
among the elite high schools at the Pro-Start Competition. To prepare, culinary stu-
dents have to practice for at least three hours a day and have to use their own money
to buy the freshest ingredients for their gourmet dishes. The gourmet team is not
the only team competing this year, the culinary program also has a brain bowl team
in which students practice running and developing their own business. This year,
with the up-most confidence, our culinary teams will attend this competition with the
proper skills and training in order to EXCEL.
