Imagine a 5 foot tall, wide-eyed woman, with a pile of crazy hair
on top of her head, screaming directions and telling you to "play nice
kiddies". That's only part of it. CHS Drama is about so much more.
Drama is not only about performing on stage and acting out scenes, it's
about learning to accept and understand cultural differences. Learn-
ing that if someone is different, it's not a bad quality, this just means
that he/she is a unique individual, and possesses a unique gift to give
to the group. Drama teaches you to express yourself and provides
a safe place to be you. Drama allows you to bring a character to life
knowing that you will be accepted no matter what that personality may
be. Drama: where you can be you.
There are many different jobs, tasks, and opportunities. Drama is
a student run production from conception; marketing, directing, tech-
nical, and acting are all examples of the team of students that work
together to make a production successful. Each team is made up of a
diverse group of individuals who learn to work together quickly ... or
else! Marketing helps to sell tickets, advertise, and get people to the
show so that our efforts are not wasted. The directors help keep every-
one organized and on target in order to be ready on time. The techni-
cal team works with the lights, sound, and video so that the production
can be seen, heard, and watched later. Without the actors there would
be no play. Drama provides a venue for team building which contrib-
utes enormously to the success of a full production. It is crucial for the
members of each team to work together: If a team is dysfunctional, that
team will not be able to interact successfully with the other teams to
