                                            SHOULDER PATCH INSIGNIA

                      Description;
                            "On a solid red shield, a trace outline of "Castillo de San

                           Marcos", in white, superimposed'.
                           The colors red and. white are representative of the early

                            Spanish bandera. The trace outline of "Castillo de San Marcos"
                            is formed by 4 arrowhead points for the 4 bastions with four
                            connecting lines for curtains (walls between bastions) forming

                            an open square for the quadrangle."

                      History;
                           The Insignia depicts the "Castillo de San Marcos", an old
                            Spanish Fort located in St. Augustine. The Fort was constructed

                           beginning the year 1672 by the Spanish. The Fort, a National
                           Monument, has flown the flag of five (5) Nations, without itself
                            eVer having been conquered. It is a tribute to the early military

                            history of Florida, which has inspired our Troops throughout the
                            eras of war.
