Some Stuff I Wrote and Some Stuff I Didn't (2011) H. Morris Williams
PREACHER TALK
A preacher friend was explaining why he preached short sermons: “The
ear can only hear what the backside can endure.” Another preacher
chimed in on the same topic with “I don’t think you can save many souls
after 12 o’clock.”
This joke was told last week at the Beulah Baptist Association semi-annual
meeting. Wife to husband: “ Honey, do you think I still have my hour glass
figure?” Husband: “Yes, dear, but it’s getting a lot later than you think!”
Funeral Friday. Closed casket.

A METHODIST STORY
Fort White United Methodist Church pastor David Kirk told this story. A
man’s young son called out three times in the middle of the night for his
Dad to bring him a glass of water and three times the father took his son
a glass of water. But on the fourth tim e the Dad had had enough and told
his young son if he asked for water one more tim e he would go to his
room and spank him. The young son then said, “Dad, when you come in
here to spank me, please bring me another glass of water.”
