Some Stuff I Wrote and Some Stuff I Didn't (2011) H. Morris Williams
And there were so many great teachers.
Teachers who taught their subjects— but they also taught
moral values. Love of country, good citizenship, and
community respect.
Who can ever forget:
• Fannie Bell Niblack
• Phyllis George
• Carrie Duncan— The unforgettable ‘Miss Carrie’
• Ella Barlow
• A.C. Rider: He was a Fort White institution all to
himself— and had so many school yearbooks dedicated
in his honor.
• Lenore Steadman: She who coached and taught Fort
White youngsters nearly 35 years.
• Laura Butler: She came to Fort White high school in
the very first days of racial integration and was so
valuable in assisting a smooth transition.
I wish I had time to mention more.
STUDENTS
And so many students who attended Fort White School.
All graduated from Fort White high school and continued
to support it after their own graduation.
• Marilyn Nettles Little: She became one of our great
school counselors.
• Frances Nettles Wilson: She is known as a walking
encyclopedia of county school information. (Marilyn’s
Sister)
• A.B. (Averill) Fielding: Has anyone loved Fort White
High School more?
