The only black theater in Lake City around 1950
was the Carver, located
near Giebeig’s Grocery on Washington Street.
The interior of the Davis Walgreen Drug Store at 102 North
Marion Street around 1950 – Mrs. J.J. Alderman is sitting on
the stool, while Ella Bankston is at the table. The waitress is
Hazel Norris, and Russ Davis (the owner and operator of the
store) is at the rear of the counter.
