Some Stuff I Wrote (2001) H. Morris Williams

The same friend had an earlier experience. She and her Air Force husband were stationed

overseas. One day he had to take a flight to Bermuda. That night she had a dream in which she
heard a knock at the door. It was a Red Cross employee. “Is it my husband or my mother?” she
asked. The dream faded before she got an answer. The very next day an Air Force Sergeant (but not

a Red Cross worker) knocked on her door: “Your mother is ill and in critical condition. They need
you to come home right away.”

The second friend is a longtime employee at Lake City Community College. As a high
school student, he was taking an advanced math class. One day the teacher assigned a problem so

complex no student was able to solve it. The teacher started to work the problem on the chalkboard
so the entire class could see how to do it.

Suddenly, before the teacher could even begin to work the problem on the board, this friend
saw - literally SAW - the problem worked out in every detail on the board. This phenomenon

happened to him several times during the rest of the school year. A shy and self-conscious teenager,
he never told anyone because he was afraid his peers would make fun of him.

The third friend is a successful high school football coach. His team was scheduled to play
in Pensacola on a Friday night. On Thursday night, this coach dreamed about the upcoming game.
In this dream, one of his players broke through the Pensacola blockers, blocked a punt and returned

               it for a touchdown.
The dream was so real that the coach conferred with his assistant coaches the next day to

confirm with them that high school football rules permit returning a blocked punt. Then he reviewed
the rule with his players in a team meeting just before the game to be sure they understood it.

That night in Pensacola the dream came true in every detail. The same player blocked the
punt in the dream and in the game - a player who had never blocked a punt before. The touchdown

was scored on the final play before halftime in the dream and in the game.
Some eerie things are easy to explain. A girl once told my sister she had seen “a red star in

the low night sky - a sure sign the world would end soon.” It turned out to be the light on the city
               water tank.
