THE TITLE

STUFF (stuf) n.: The material out of which something is made; essence; the
basic substance of anything, (from the American Heritage
Dictionary)

I titled this book ‘Some Stuff I Wrote’ because a friend always referred to my
newspaper columns as ‘stuff’.

“I loved that stuff you wrote last week”, he would say.

Or “Boy, you sure wrote some good stuff in today’s column”.

Or “Someday you ought to put that stuff you write into a book”.

So, when I was looking for a title for this book, it hit me that ‘stuff’ is as good
a description as any for what I had written.

I hope there is enough good ‘stuff’ in this book to make it enjoyable reading
for you.
