such tax sales, nor shall it be permitted to bring
suit for the recovery of any lands bought by it, 35/257
but the lien of the said certificates shall be en
forced in the manner provided by this Act, as to
the lien of the taxes assessed under the authority
of the Act, and the said Act to which this is an
amendment and supplement. The time for the
payment of these tax certificates of the tax sales
of 1909 and 1910, is hereby extended to and in
cluding the first day of October, A. D. 1911, after
which date said tax sale certificates shall be delivered
to the City Attorney and the City Attorney shall
proceed with all convenient speed to collect the
same with costs as is provided in this Act for the
collection of taxes levied by authority of this Act,
and the Act to which this is an amendment and
supplement.
Sec. 9. That there is hereby created for the
City of Lake City the office of City Attorney, the
City Attorney shall be appointed by the Mayor
of said city until the next general election for city
officers, then he shall be elected by the qualified
electors of said city for the term of two years
and to be elected every two years thereafter, as
other officers of said city are elected and he shall
be required to give bond in such amount as shall
be required by ordinance and shall be subjected
to impeachment as other officers of said city, and
he shall receive an annual salary of $100.00 in
addition to the fees mentioned in this Act and
such additional amount as may be fixed by the
City Council and do all legal work required by
them.
Sec. 10. That there is hereby created for the
said City of Lake City of the office of City Marshal
