The work experience program of
C.H .S. provides for guidance and
work experience in school and on
the job that would allow for direction
and aid in personal adjustment and
the desire to stay in school.
Work experience permits
students to earn money but at the
same time receive an education in a
supervised school program. The
working student is allowed to use
his working experience toward
elective units for graduation. The
Distributive Education program of
Columbia High School has helped
many students obtain a well paying
job that could have a great influence
on their future. The D. E. program is
mostly attractive to the students
who are not interested in
immediately pursuing a college
education but want on the job
training in such fields as: Trade,
Business, Occupation , Industry, and
Distribution. Whatever the job may
be, the students benefit financially
from it. They are given expert advice
and direction from the hands of: Mr.
Richard Kalich, Mr. Frank Albury,
Mr. Marcus Giddens, Mr. Eddie
Long , Mr. Dyess Coury, Mr. W. T.
Long, and Mr. Silas Pittman.
