No Trespassing!
Blue and red lights flashing, sirens blaring, police cars skidding.
Before you can look across the bare field at the oncoming cops you realize
your hang out spot is officially ruined. That couple of acres meant so much.
The trampled grass spot, empty coke cans, and smoldering fire will be
missed the most because it symbolizes the very freedom of summer, even
if it isn't your legal property.
This scenario is a typical summer night for teens who ignore the
"Trespassers will be prosecuted" sign. None of us stop to think about the
livid land owners who are stuck picking up our garbage and gossiping
about us the next day in church. This is how we leave our mark: on the
families' private property where we make our party scene. And yes, this is
where your grandparents get the ever so popular "you rotten kids" phrase.

Summer Bromance
Ah, summer ... the season of Bromances. Not to be confused with a summer
romance, a "Bromance" is best classified as a special bond between two males that
can neither be broken or misconstrued as more than just a "friends" relationship. Its
simply the uncomplicated love and affection shared by two good pals. During a sum-
mer bromance, the bros could have count-
less "broments" depending on the type of
fun being had. An excellent example of said
broment would have to be when my friend
and I were cruising along Highway 90 and
happened to stumble upon an old CD. We
popped it in and the old rap song "Ain't
Nothin' But A G-Thang" by Dr.Dre and Snoop
Dogg started playing. My bro very noncha-
lantly turned up the volume and we started
rapping along with the song, continuing in
the ways of our summer bromance.
