Some Stuff I Wrote and Some Stuff I Didn't (2011) H. Morris Williams
John Streety, Miss Frannie Ross, Mrs. M. W. Scarborough, Mrs. G. W. Price, Mrs.
B. H. Palmer, Mrs. Leola McNeil, Mrs. C. C. Hutcherson, Mrs. Harriett Wright,
Mrs. McQuaig, Mrs. Osteen, and Mrs. Jimmie Snowden.
A missionary society was organized the same year 1887, by the pastor’s wife, Mrs.
Evans. Mrs. J. W. Hensley was the first president and later was presented a life
membership. Since then, several life memberships have been presented.
One missionary, E. Clayton Calhoun, has gone out from this church. Four girls
have given themselves for life service. During the pastorate of Rev. A. A.
Koestline, four boys and two girls have given themselves for life service. Three of
the boys have been licensed to preach.
Thus the church has reached out to serve in the past, and with the new sanctuary
and the same spirit of services activating the members, it will be able to serve the
Lord and the community more efficiently in the future.
