Some Stuff I Wrote and Some Stuff I Didn't (2011) H. Morris Williams

He began working in Lake City as a roving physical education instructor
at Central, Melrose and Five Points elementaries. Having to deal with
three principals, Claude Fralick, Robby Robinson and Paul Giebeig

respectively, would serve Rawleigh well later when he went to work for

P.A. Browning at Lake City Junior High.

Rawleigh charmed his way into another household in Lake City, when
he married the former Nita Martin in March, 1956. Nita was an

operating room nurse at the.Veterans Administration Hospital and the.
New York boy with his tattoos had no problems with the Lake City

              family.

“We got along fine,” Rawleigh said of Nita* s dad, a mail carrier.

Rick and Nita had three children-Sabrina, Kirk, and Lisa.

Sabrina is married to Pat Sibbemsen and they have three children-

Dehne, Austin, and Arden. Lisa is married to Larry Russell and their
              children are Cory and Holly.

Kirk was killed in 1972 at age 14 along with Ricky Harris in a car-train
              accident.

“I tried to get back to school and get into things, so I wouldn’t just dwell
on that,” Rawleigh said about his grief. “Time seems to heal

              everything.”

              TEACHING SWIMMING

Summer Enrichment Programs they were called in the old days and
Rawleigh joined in with a vengeance.

There was little league baseball and camping trips where he and Giebeig
would take a bus load of kids to Juniper Springs or the Okeefenokee
Swamp, but aquatics was Rawleigh’s specialty.
