Some Stuff I Wrote and Some Stuff I Didn't (2011) H. Morris Williams
Russel and Axman were our consultants, Daytona Beach. When I
reviewed the master plans, I found that a main sewer line came by Frank
Snider’s house to Baya Avenue, then to a lift station to pump back up
the hill. I suggested that they consider running the main line in a
different direction to eliminate the lift station. This was done.
Also I promoted the main sewer lines for north of Railroad Street, as
there were no plans for service to this section.
My argument that sold the issue was that our maids came from this area
and bring whatever germs and diseases to our house and kids, and
therefore I strongly believed that they also should have sewer and water
service.
This was done. Changes were made to accommodate and to provide
them with these sewer and water services.
Morris, my friend, you did a good service to record and preserve the
history of Lake City and Columbia County. Thank you.

in Lake City)
