Television program filmed locally
“TV Neighbors,” the first-ever television show filmed in Lake
City, was shot there in 1951. Zenith Television was the sponsor, and
the local School Museum has both the film and the script of the original
show. “TV Neighbors” was shown on Channel 4 when that station
was the only TV station in Jacksonville. Thanks to forward thinking at
LCCC-TV by men like Kerry Hagler, Mike McKee, and Duffy
Soto, that film has been preserved and is shown several times a year
on the local college station.
