Chapter Fifteen: 1950 - 1959
CHS students operated a snack bar near tobacco barns
around 1953 to raise money for a class trip to Miami Beach.
They traveled there by the Silver Meteor train
and stayed at the Robert Richter Hotel.
In 1958, Harold Morgan (on the right) was CHS’s first
driver-education teacher; the student was Doc Bloodworth.
