Florida Agricultural College

By the start of the 20th century, Lake City had good pros-
pects for a bright future. It had a reputable college that would soon
become the University of Florida, and the railroads that served the
area (Seaboard Air Line, Atlantic Coast Line, Georgia Southern, and
the Florida Railroad) were good indicators of a strong economic fu-
ture.
A photo of the campus showed wide-open spaces.
