The graduating class of
1901 produced the first
yearbook of FAC, Pinakidia,
and dedicated it to Mary
Law McClintock, English
teacher, who spent many an
hour instilling good writing
habits into her students.The
word Pinakidia from the
Greek was a term for tablets
or memoranda.
The presidents of the Florida Agricultural College in the
first decade of the twentieth century were Wilbur Yocum (1892
- 1893 and 1897 - 1901), Thomas Taliaferro (1901 - 1904), and
Andrew Sledd (1904 - 1905), who would be president of the
school when it became the University of Florida.

The school began providing graduate student fellowships
in the early 1900s. For example, it awarded three such fellow-
ships in 1902, each worth $150 a year.
