COWBOY COOKIES DEBBIE WILSON
2 C flour 1 C shortening
2 t soda 1 C sugar
1/2 t salt 1 C brown sugar, packed
1/2 t baking powder 2 C rolled oats
2 eggs 1 t vanilla
1 pkg semi-sweet chocolate chips
Sift together and set aside: flour, soda, salt, baking powder.
Blend together shortening and sugar. Add eggs and beat until
light and fluffy. Add flour mixture and mix well. Add oats,
vanilla, chocolate. Dough is crumbly. Drop by teaspoon onto
greased cookie sheet and bake 15 minutes at 350. Makes 11 dozen.
APPLE BROWN BETTY BARBARA LESLIE
Canned applesauce or apple slices
Crumbled graham crackers
Chopped nuts, sprinkling of cinnamon
4 or 5 tsp molasses
Spread applesauce or apples in greased, shallow baking dish.
Top with a generous layer of graham crackers, nuts and cinnamon.
Drizzle molasses over all. Dot with butter and broil until
crisp and brown.
CHERRY JUBILEE PIE SYBIL SISTRUNK
1 box (5 oz) of instant vanilla pudding mix
1 box graham crackers 1 12-oz Cool Whip
1 can Cherry pie filling
Mix pudding as directed; add cool whip, mix well.
Layer crackers and pudding mixture in a dish -
top with Cherry pie filling. Refrigerate until
cold. Serves 6.
FRUIT BARS IRENE GRAY
1 pkg Pillsbury Date Quick Bread Mix
2/3 C water 2 eggs
1/2 C chopped nuts 1/3 c firmly packed brown sugar
Combine all ingredients, stirring until moistened, then add
chocolate chips, raisins, coconut or fruit mix, peanut butter
chips.
Topping-. 1/2 C flour, 1/3 C firmly packed brown sugar
1/4 C softened butter.
Blend until crumbly, sprinkle evenly over batter.
Or, could put a glaze over top. Bake in 9x1288 pan at 3 50 -
30-35 minutes.
