REVISED ORDINANCES
ORDINANCE No. 1. 54/257
Compensations and Bonds of City Officers
Section 1. The Mayor shall receive a salary
of $25.00 per month, payable monthly.
Sec. 2. The City Clerk shall receive a salary
of $100 per annum, payable quarterly, and such
fees as may be provided by ordinance. He shall
give bond in the sum of $500.00.
Sec. 3. The Tax Collector shall be paid com
missions on the aggregate amount of taxes, in
cluding license taxes, collected by him, as follows:
On the first $5,000.00, three per cent.; on the next
$3,000.00, two per cent.; on the balance, one per
cent. In addition to this he shall receive fifteen
cents for each tax sale certificate. He shall give
bond in the sum of $2,000.00.
Sec. 4. The Tax Assessor shall be paid com
mission on the amount of taxes assessed and
collected, exclusive of errors and double assess
ments, as follows: On the first $5,000.00, three per
cent.; on the next $3,000.00 two per cent.; on the
balance, one per cent. When the tax books shall
be completed, received, examined, and found to be
correct by the City Council, he shall be paid not
to exceed three-fifths of the amount due him as
Assessor. The remainder shall be reserved until a
correct report of all errors and double assessments
shall be made and approved by the Council.
He shall give a bond in the sum of $1,000.00.
