Sec. 6. The board of public works shall enter
up in a book to be kept by them for that purpose 174/257
and labeled “Street Improvement Lien Book” all
bills due the City from owners of property for the
construction and repair of sidewalks and the City
tax collector shall collect and receipt for all such
bills. Such bills if not paid within sixty days after
entry in such book shall be collected with interest
at the rate of eight per cent per annum from the
date of entry in such book.
Sec. 7. Any person violating any of the pro
visions of this ordinance shall upon conviction be
fined not exceeding Five Hundred Dollars or im
prisonment not more than sixty days.
ORDINANCE No. 39.
Street Paving.
AN ORDINANCE to order, regulate and pro
vide for the grading and paving of Marion
street between the Georgia Southern and
Florida Railroad and the Southeast corner of
lot 324 in Southern division of Lake City,
Florida, and Railroad street from the East end
of tha Atlantic Coast Line depot to Taylor
street and Duval street from Western end run
ning Eastward to the Corporation line, and to
require the owners of real estate to construct
uniform and substantial street pavement in
front of their property and to have the work
done by the City and to provide for the collec
tion from such owners of two thirds the cost
thereof when the owners fail to have the work
done.
Be it ordained by the City Council of the City of
Lake City:
