Charier of the City of Lake City
Public Instruction of Columbia County, Florida,
in constructing the same, and shall also have the 171/257
power to pay the present outstanding indebted
ness of the City from the moneys arising from the
sale of bonds authorized for that purpose.
Sec. 27. This ordinance shall take effect im
mediately on its passage and approval by the
Mayor.

ORDINANCE No. 38-A.
Construction of Sidewalks.
AN ORDINANCE to order, regulate, control and
provide for the construction and maintenance
of sidewalks and to require the owners of real
estate within the corporate limits to construct
uniform and substantial sidewalks and to keep
the same in repair and to have the work done
by the City and to provide for the collection
of two thirds of the cost thereof when the owner
fails to have the work done.
Be it ordained by the City Council of the City of
Lake City:
Sec. 1. The owner or owners of every lot,
piece or parcel of land within the corporate limits
of the City of Lake City which may front on or
abut upon any street is hereby ordered and re
quired to construct, repair or otherwise have in
thorough repair, within thirty days after the ap
proval and publication of this ordinance and there
after to keep and have in thorough repair a good
and sufficient sidewalk or foot pavement con
structed in the manner, to the width, and of the
material hereinafter mentioned and described as
