Southeast corner of lot 324 in the Southern divi
sion of the City of Lake City, Florida, Flint or 176/257
hard Rock. Railroad street from the East end of
the Atlantic Coast Line depot to Taylor street,
Vitrified Brick; Duval street from Western end
running Eastward to the Corporation line, Flint
or hard Rock. And the manner of laying the same
shall be subject to the approval and under the
supervision of the board of public works.
Sec. 3. If the owner or owners of any lot,
piece or parcel of land abutting upon said streets
so required to be graded and paved shall fail to
comply with any of the provisions of this ordinance
within the time prescribed hereby, the board of
public works shall contract for the grading and
paving of said streets and two thirds the amount
contracted to be paid for the same by the City
shall be a lien upon the real estate abutting upon
said streets, so graded and paved, according to
frontage on said streets and such amount shall be
assessed as a special assessment tax against the
said real estate, and an equal part thereof against
each lot or tract of land per foot front thereof
abutting upon the streets so graded and paved and
the same may be enforced by suit at law or in
equity or the said amount may be recovered
against said owner or owners before any Court of
competent jurisdiction.
Sec. 4. The board of public works shall enter
up in a book to be kept by them for that purpose
and labeled “Street Improvement Lien Book” all
bills due the City from owners of property for the
grading and paving of said streets and the City tax
collector shall collect and receipt for all such bills.
Such bills if not paid within sixty days after entry
