                                  Charter of the City of Lake City
                  punished by a fine not exceeding Five Hundred
                  Dollars or by imprisonment not exceeding thirty
                  days or by both such fine and imprisonment in
                  the discretion of the Mayor.
                       Sec. 6. This ordinance shall take effect sixty
                  days after its passage and approval by the Mayor.
                       Sec. 7. All ordinances or parts of ordinances
                  in conflict with any of the provisions of this ordin­
                  ance be and the same are hereby repealed.


                                   CRDINANCE No. 42.
                                              Sewers.

                       Sec. 1. That within thirty days after the pas­
                  sage and approval of this ordinance every building
                  in the sewer district where public sewers are provid­
                  ed within two hundred feet thereof shall be con­
                  nected therewith unless the time for the doing of
                  such work shall be extended for good cause by the
                  majority of the City Council. Every owner, agent,
                  lesse or occupant of any building who shall fail to
                  make sewer connection as above provided shall be
                  punished as provided in section twenty-seven of said
                  ordinance.
                       Sec. 2. That all plumbing work done in the
                  City of Lake City shall be done under the direc­
                  tion and control of the City Council and sanitary
                  committee thereof or its and their duly appointed
                  and qualified agent or representative who shall be
                  known and designated as inspector of plumbing
                  and said inspector of plumbing shall be the regu­
                  larly employed superintendent of the water and
                  light plant of the said City of Lake City. The com­
                  pensation of such inspector shall be fixed from time
                  to time by the City Council under the immediate
