direction, supervision and control of which he
shall be and perform his duties as such inspector 183/257
and by which body his acts and doings as such in
spector may be reviewed, modified, altered, con
trolled or reversed, upon complaints filed with
said body and under these or other written rules
and regulations which said Council shall make,
adopt and keep. And said City Council is hereby
authorized and empowered and is made its duty
to employ from time to time as necessity may re
quire such inspector either for the whole or for such
part of the time as may be necessary and to con
tract with and to pay to him such compensation as
may be necessary and to make and adopt such
other and further rules and regulations relating to
plumbing and the use of fixtures as may be deemed
expedient or necessary. Before entering upon his
duties such inspector shall give a good and suffi
cient bond to the City in its corporate name to be
approved by the City Council in the sum of One
Thousand Dollars with some approved Guarantee
Company as surety conditioned for the faithful
and impartial performance of his duties as inspec
tor of plumbing under the restrictions herein con
tained and in accordance herewith and with such
other and further rules and regulations as the
Council may impose. All plumbers and employees
at such work as provided for in this ordinance shall
be under the direct supervision and control of
said inspector subject to the limitations aforesaid.
No person who has an interest directly or indirectly
in any plumbing business or who is of kin to any
person interested in such business in said City shall
be qualified to hold said office of inspector of
plumbing.
