Charter of the City of Lake City
examined, tested and approved by the said inspec
tor of plumbing before being closed in as provided 185/257
by this ordinance and other ordinances and rules
and regulations promulgated by the City Council;
Provided, however, That this ordinance shall not be
so construed as preventing the owner of real prop
erty in this City from employing a mechanic to
install plumbing on his premises subject always to
the inspection and approval as hereinbefore pro
vided.
Sec. 4. That there shall be charged and col
lected by the firm, company or plumber and turned
over to the City treasurer inspection fees as fol
lows: for every premises with fixtures only on one
or lower story a fee of one dollar for four or less
fixtures and an additional fee of twenty-five cents
for each additional fixture in new and reconstructed
plumbing work, before the issuance of a permit as
hereinbefore provided for; an inspection fee of
two dollars for every premises and two-story build
ing having fixtures on both floors or exceeding five,
for each sewer connection and additional fees as
aforesaid in case of new and reconstructed work;
an inspection fee of three dollars for each premises
and three-story building with fixtures on all up to
a total of ten with additional fee as aforesaid in
cases aforesaid; which fees shall be paid into and
placed to the credit of the sanitary inspection fund
hereby created out of which shall be paid the said
inspector’s salary; and the receipt of the treasurer
for such fees shall be exhibited to the inspector and
Council or its committee before permit is granted
and the inspection is made. The inspector shall
keep a record of his work and of the premises and
buildings inspected and of the work and fixtures
