liabilities for damages which may arise or accrue
to the City of Lake City, Florida, from any injury
to persons or property frcm the doing of any work 234/257
herein authorized of the neglect of said Company
or any of its employees to comply with any ordin
ance relative to the uses of streets of said City and
the acceptance by the Company of this ordinance
shall be an agreement by it to pay to the City of
Lake City, Florida, any sum of money for which
the City may become liable from or by reason of
such injury.
Sec. 6. In the event that said Company es
tablishes a local exchange in the City of Lake City,
Florida, the rates to be charged for local exchange
service shall not be less than the rates charged by
any competing exchange in Lake City, Florida, for
a similar class of service.
Sec. 7. The rates charged for local exchange
service in Lake City, Florida, shall not be higher
than the rates charged in Cities of similar size and
under like conditions in the territory in which said
Company operates.
Sec. 8. Said Company is hereby authorized
and empowered to acquire, own and operate all
the telephone property in the City of Lake City,
Florida, (Heretofore belonging to the Columbia
Telephone Co.) as fully in all respects as if the same
had been originally erected by said Southern Bell
Telephone and Telegraph Company under the pro
visions of this ordinance.
Sec. 9. If a local exchange should be estab
lished by said Company it shall furnish to the City
of Lake City, Florida, for its use three exchange
stations free of cost to said City to be located in
