Sec. 53. All weekly newspapers shall pay a
license tax of five dollars; all daily newspapers a 67/257
license tax of ten dollars.
Sec. 54. All agents or dealers in illuminating
or lubricating or kerosene oils, where no other
license is paid, shall pay a license tax of ten dollars.
Sec. 55. All opticians or oculists, who pay no
other license tax, shall pay a license tax of five
dollars.
Sec. 56. Agents for or dealers in paints, lin
seed oils or varnishes, who pay no other license
shall pay a license tax of five dollars.
Sec. 57. All peanut or popcorn vendors shall
pay a license tax of two and one-half dollars.
Sec. 58. All persons running a woodyard with
in or without the corporate limits, tor a livelihood,
shall pay a license tax of five dollars.
Sec. 59. All cotton gins shall pay a license
tax of ten dollars. All labor recruiting agents
shall pay a license tax of twenty-five dollars.
Sec. 60. Any firm, person, association or cor
poration that carries on, conducts or manages or
acts as business agent for any business or profes
sion for which a license is required, without first
obtaining such license, shall be punished by a fine
not less than double the amount required by such
license and not more than five hundred dollars, or
by imprisonment not more than sixty days or
both. The payment of all license taxes may be
enforced by a seizure and sale of the property by
the Tax Collector of said city; it is hereby made the
special duty of the Tax Collector and Clerk of said
