Charter of the City of Lake City
Sec. 30. Auctioneers for the sale of land or
other property shall pay a license tax of fifteen 64/257
dollars. This shall include a sale by auction of
personal property by traveling salesmen, dealers,
traders, merchants or other salesmen, and no
fractional license shall issue for such purpose.
Sec. 31. All pawnbrokers doing business with
in the limits of said city shall pay a license tax of
twenty-five dollars for each place of business and
no fractional license shall be issued to pawnbrokers.
Sec. 32. All persons giving public exhibitions,
shows or entertainments in the public streets,
alleys or any other place within the corporate
limits of said city, for the purpose of advertising
medicine, drugs or any other thing, or for any
other purpose whatsoever, shall pay a license tax
of two dollars for each day they give such enter
tainment, show or performance.
Sec. 33. All persons posting bills or papers for
advertising purposes or any other purpose, except
advertising legal sales or for religious purposes,
shall pay a license tax of twenty-five dollars if
such is taken out for a whole year, but if taken out
for a part of the year only, then such person or
persons shall pay a license tax of two dollars for
each day for the privilege of posting bills or papers
within said city. This shall not apply to licensed
dealers doing business within said city.
Sec. 34. All persons running or managing a
fruit stand or doing a fruit business shall pay a
license tax of five dollars for each place of business
within said city, except merchants who pay a
license tax on not less than a two-thousand-dollar
stock of merchandise.
