                                               Poetic Memories

                                                     November 9,1993

Today I will turn this column over to Wanda Toner and Sylvia Williams Lynch who will

                share their poetry with you.
Wanda is a case manager for the Department of Mental Health. Although she is not a native
of Lake City, she is one of us “at heart”. She writes of what she saw and felt when she attended the

last homecoming game at Memorial Stadium.
Sylvia is a native of Lake City (CHS graduate, 1967) who loves CHS so much she bleeds

purple and gold. She was into every club and activity when she attended CHS then served as
president of the CHS Alumni Association for three years. She writes her feelings about Eddie Joe

“Tiny” Long, Sr. (CHS, 1933) one of the greatest athletes ever at CHS and one of the most beloved
and respected men in Columbia County.
