Some Stuff I Wrote (2001) H. Morris Williams
His love of them and life, with fire,
The highest of success.
This man who leads with loving heart
So strong and self reliant,
This man so fine, who we call “Tiny,”
is no small man, he’s a “GIANT”.
Queen’s Food Had Nothing On This Fete
November 16,1993
The Queen was wrong ... On Wednesday, November 3, the Queen of England sat down
to eat what she and the royal family thought was the best food in the world. They were wrong. The
best food served that night was dished up by the local Double OO Buck Hunting Club to the CHS
football team at their hunting camp on Falling Creek Road. All kinds of barbecue, fresh vegetables,
fried venison, and a dozen mouth-watering desserts made up the menu. Many thanks go to club
president, Steve Nail and all the members, including Willie Allen, Ron Williams, Gary Anderson,
Johnny Ray Smith, David Green, Bill and Elaine Webb, and so many others for this hallelujah
evening.
Saturday soiree .. . Yet another group of CHS grads have gotten together to celebrate a
lifetime of friendship and good memories. Sallie Rae (class of 1948) and Ernest Williams (class
of 1940) hosted a CHS alumni party at their San Juan Avenue home recently. Guests included
Barbara Bullard and Billie Sue Schmid (both class of 1948) and Jim (‘41) and Dorothy Sue Pitman
(‘48). Out of town guests were Mary Jeannette Loadholtes (class of 1944) of Lake Butler; Sylvia
(class of 1948) and Phil Stambaugh, Gainesville; Pat and Don Williams (‘48), Ocala; Mary and
Wendell Colson (‘48), Orlando; Betty Strickland (‘48), Tallahassee; and Larry and Peggy Snyder
