Some Stuff I Wrote (2001) H. Morris Williams
Children projecting selves into the future,
Mature adults struggling
With their own memories,
And emotions.
Holding on to the past.
All this was our panorama.
ODE TO “TINY” JOE
What makes one star shine far and bright,
While others seem to dim?
I know not stars, but I know “Tiny”.
So let me speak of him.
How blessed I am to know this man,
So many count as friend,
A man whose life is as a torch,
To light the road that bends.
No gentler man, no kinder soul,
Has ever walked the earth,
For him there is no middle ground,
He loves for all he’s worth.
For countless souls whose hearts he touched,
While teaching for all he’s worth.
