Sec. 4. If the Council approve the action of
the Mayor in suspending such officer, they may, 133/257
by a vote of two-thirds of the members present,
permanently remove such officer, and declare his
office vacant, and proceed to fill the same as pro
vided by Sectiou 19 of Chapter 5091, Laws of
Florida.
ORDINANCE NO. 28
Duties of Police.
Sec. 1. It shall be unlawful for the City Mar
shal or any policeman while on duty, to enter into
or loiter about any bar rooms where spirituous,
vinous or malt liquors are sold, to enter into or
loiter about any bawdy house or house of ill fame,
to enter into any gambling house or room, to en
gage in any game with cards or other device for
money or thing of value, or to indulge in the use
of any intoxicating liquors to drunkenness, or to that
extent that the Marshal or any policeman from the
effects and influence of intoxicants, should be
guilty of using profane, obscene or indecent lan
guage in a loud and boisterous manner on the
streets or in any public place. Provided, however,
That it shall be the duty of the Marshal or any
policeman to enter into any bar room or into any
bawdy house or house of ill fame or into any gambling
room or house, or into any other place, for the pur
pose of making arrests for violations of law.
Sec. 2. It shall be the duty of the Mayor to
at once suspend any Marshal or policeman who
shall violate the- provision of Section 1 of this
ordinance, and he shall make report thereof to the
Council in the manner provided by ordinance for
