Sec. 9. All rules and regulations authorized
by ordinances shall not become effective until they
have been published for the period of twenty-four
hours, by posting in three public places within the
city, and in case of quarantine against other places,
such places must have twenty-four hours’ notice of
such quarantine, by mailing or telegraphing notice
to the authorities of the place quarantined against.
ORDINANCE NO. 34
Record of Births, Deaths and Burials
Sec. 1. It shall be the duty of the City
Treasurer to keep a record of all births, deaths and
burials occurring within the corporate limits, and
he shall be paid twenty-five cents by the city for
each record so made, and shall make quarterly
reports thereof to the Council.
Sec. 2. Said record shall contain the name, age,
sex and color, together with the date and cause of
death of each person dying within the city, of each
person buried within the city, and sex, color and
date of birth of each person born within the city.
Sec. 3. Every physician, midwife or other per
son who may professionally assist or advise at the
birth of any child shall make a report thereof to
the City Treasurer, giving the date and place of
such birth, with the sex and color within six days
after such birth.
Sec. 4. Every undertaker or other person who
shall bury or cause to be buried any person dying
within the corporate limits shall report the name,
age, sex, color and cause of death to the City
Treasurer within six days after such burial.
