                  Sec. 5. Every physician or other person who
              may attend a person dying within the corporate                      143/257
              limits shall report the name, age, sex, color and
              date and cause of death to the City Treasurer
              within six days after said death.
                  Sec. 6. Any person who shall refuse or neg­
              lect to make a report as required by the provisions
              of this ordinance shall be punished by a fine not
              exceeding twenty-five dollars or by imprisonment
              not exceeding thirty days.



                               ORDINANCE NO. 35
                                       Cemeteries

                  Sec. 1. No cemetery shall be established or
              located within the corporate limits of Lake City
              except the present four-acre cemetery for white
              people as now enclosed, and the one-acre lot,
              Number 15, in the Northwest division, for colored
              people, as now enclosed. Said cemeteries shall
              not be enlarged. Any person burying a corpse
              at any other place within the city limits than with­
              in the present enclosed cemeteries, shall be pun­
              ished by a fine not exceeding five hundred dollars
              or imprisonment not exceeding sixty days.
                  Sec. 2. The City Council shall annually elect
              a sexton, who shall have charge of the city ceme­
              tery for white people. He shall superintend the
             burial of all persons who shall be brought to the
             cemetery for interment. He shall keep the ceme­
             tery grounds, fences, walks and paths in good
             order, clear of all rubbish and other trash or filth.
             He shall receive a salary of seventy-five dollars a
             year, payable quarterly. In addition to this salary
             he shall receive two dollars each for digging and
