ORDINANCE NO. 36
Sewage in Lakes.
Sec. 1. It shall be unlawful for any person,
persons, firm or corporation, public or private, to
construct, build, operate, maintain, empty or run
any system of, by pipes or otherwise, sewage,
down to or into any of the lakes or waters or parts
thereof, that lie in whole or in part, within the
corporate limits of the City of Lake City, Florida,
or near enough thereto for the sewage matter to
get into the waters of said lakes; or to discharge
by any means any sewage matter therein.
Sec. 2. It shall be the duty of the Marshal or
any police officer of the said city to arrest, with or
without warrant, any person or persons who con
struct or attempts to construct, maintain or oper
ate, and aids in the construction for operation of
any sewerage system within said city that runs down
to or into any of the waters of any lake in said
city, or that discharges therein any sewage matter
by any means, and bring said person or persons
before the Mayor to be dealt with in accordance
with this ordinance.
Sec. 3. Any person violating Section 1 of this
ordinance shall be punished by fine not exceeding
five hundred dollars or imprisonment not exceed
ing sixty days.
