               of the stack (Y) branches and one eight bend shall
               be used unless otherwise recommended by the in­                    189/257
               spector. A brass cleanout shall be placed at the
               base of every stack. No opening will be allowed in
               the sewer pipes of any building for the purpose of
               receiving the surface or ground water or overflows
               of any character, even if trapped, unless a special
              written permit be granted by the Council on the^
               approval of the inspector which permit may at any;'
              time be revoked and such connection be discon­
              tinued and closed upon the recommendation of the
              inspector or order of the Council. Rainwater con­
              ductors or gutters shall not be connected with or
              emptied into house sewers nor used as soil water or
              vent pipes; nor shall any soil water or vent pipes
              be used as a rainwater conductor. No cistern or
              other overflow shall have a connection with the
              sewer. And if such connection in any case is or
              becomes necessary a special permit must be se­
              cured from the Council upon the recommendation
              of the inspectors before the same is made.

                   Sec. 10. That every fixture shall have a sep­
              arate approved trap placed as near the fixture as
              possible except in case of wash trays when one
              trap may be allowed for a set of three compart­
              ments of such fixtures. These traps shall be pro­
              tected from syphonage by a special vent pipe of a
              size not less than the waste pipe; but vent pipes
              for water closets, slop hoppers, urinals and closed
              or indoor grease traps shall be of a size not less
              than two-inch bore. No more than five fixtures
              including only two closets- shall be allowed on a
              two-inch vent of forty feet or less; one and one
              quarter and one and one half inch to always enter
              into two-inch pipe. Where over forty feet and
