Charter of the City of Lake City
from boilers and tank overflow pipes shall not be
connected with sewers. -191 191/257
Sec. 13. That waste from refrigerators or
other receptacles in which provisions or food are
stored shall not be directly connected with the
sewer. Such waste pipes shall be provided with
traps suitably ventilated and in every case there
shall be open air space between the trap and the
connections with the sewer where connected there
with.
Sec. 14. That a grease trap shall be placed
outside of each and every building where same is
connected with the City sewers and no grease traps
less than three times the size of the vessels or fix
tures emptying into it shall be allowed; and all
waste pipes from sinks or fixtures the contents of
which are liable to be greasy must be conducted to
the grease trap in such a manner as may be ap
proved or ordered by the inspector. Such traps
must be set within twelve feet from the vent stack
or be re-vented.
Sec. 15. That water closets must never be
placed in unventilated rooms or compartments.
In every case' the room or compartment must be
open unto the open air or be ventilated by a shaft
or air duct having an area to the open air of at
least four feet square.
That when any sewer pipe or lateral, which
may hereafter be placed or laid, passes within six
feet of any well or cistern, or driven well, and
pump from which water is used, or when any
sewer pipe is laid under ground which has been
made or filled in, such pipe shall be cast iron, and
shall be securely fastened by irons, cemented, laid
